Your student life

Coming to university is about much more than getting a degree – it’s about exploring ideas, discovering new passions and making new friends.

When you join us as a student, you’ll meet people from all over the world and all walks of life. What unites us all is our passion for learning. So, whatever your background and whatever your ambitions, you’ll find people to vibe with.

With thousands of students and former students to connect with, you’ll get to develop networks that will help you in life and your future career. You’ll have a great time exploring who you are and what matters to you in life.

For me, what makes the University of Greenwich special is that they pick such great people – not just as students but support staff and lecturers.

- Rachel Dickinson, BSc Mathematics graduate

130 student societies

We have loads of Students’ Union societies and a packed social events calendar. You’ll find everything from club nights to anime and games sessions at the uni bar.

If you already love a particular sport, then you can delve deeper into it. If not, have a go at something new.

Check out our societies

It’s really easy to find a community to be part of here, and I have a lot of friends both from my course and from all the different societies.

- Ashfi Hossain, BSc Economics student

I reached out to Student Wellbeing Service when I started at the university. Thanks to the support I’ve received, I’ve gone through my first year very smoothly.

- April Williams, BSc Psychology with Counselling student

If you need someone to talk to, you can count on our mental health and psychological wellbeing coordinators and counsellors.

If you’re a care leaver, you can rely on our specialist support before you join us, during your time with us and after you graduate.

Financial support

There are many ways we can help eligible students fund their studies, including bursaries, scholarships and a hardship fund. Our scholarships and bursaries range from bursaries for care leavers to students in financial need. With our EU Bursary, new students domiciled in the EU could receive a first-year tuition-fee reduction.

Commuter Bursary

Commuting to the University of Greenwich is easy. If you plan to travel to university each day, we'll make sure you get the most out of your time here. Over a third of our students commute to university so you'll have lots of potential travel buddies
