This course is available on a full-time or part-time basis, which allows you to fit your studies around your other commitments. We also encourage you to attend events and discuss current HR trends with practitioners, faculty and guest speakers. Regular seminars of the CIPD South East Thames branch are held at the university.

Entry requirements
An undergraduate (honours) degree at 2:2, or above, in a relevant subject and two years relevant work experience.
Applicants without a degree that have professional qualifications or relevant professional experience may be considered.

Can I use Prior Learning?
Applicants with professional qualifications and/or four years of full-time work experience will be considered on an individual basis up to 90 credits.
Business professionals with Level 7 CIPD qualifications can apply to enter this programme with advanced standing, subject to completion of a minimum number of academic credits.
How you will learn
Teaching
In a typical week, learning takes place through a combination of lectures and seminars. You'll be able to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller group sessions.
Contact hours may fall on two days per week between afternoons and evenings for the full-time course and one day per week between afternoons and evenings for the part-time course.

Class sizes
The typical student intake per year is up to 30. Lectures are normally attended by 25-30, and seminars/tutorials by 15-30, based on our 2018 intake. This varies by module, particularly if they are shared between degrees.
Independent learning
Outside of timetabled sessions, you'll need to dedicate time to self-study to prepare for coursework, presentations and exams. Our Stockwell Street library and online resources will support your further reading and research.
You can also join a range of student societies, including the HRM Society.
Overall workload
Your overall workload consists of contact hours (lectures, seminars, etc), independent learning, and assessments. For full-time students, the overall workload should be roughly equivalent to a full-time job. For part-time students, this will reduce in proportion with the number of modules you are studying.

University accommodation is available from £126.35 per person per week (bills included), depending on your location and preferences. If you require more space or facilities, these options are available at a slightly higher cost.

The Greenwich Bursary
This bursary is worth £700 for new undergraduate students with a low household income, entering Year 0 or 1 who meet the eligibility criteria.
EU Bursary
Following the UK's departure from the European Union, we are supporting new EU students by offering a substantial fee-reduction for studying.
Financial support
We want your time at university to be enjoyable, rewarding, and free of unnecessary stress, so planning your finances before you come to university can help to reduce financial concerns. We can offer advice on living costs and budgeting, as well as on awards, allowances and loans.
Further costs may include (but are not limited to):
- Resources: you may need to purchase books for your studies, as well as specific computer software (estimate, £150 per year). Our Stockwell Street library also offers extensive books for loan, access to journals and digital resources.
- Memberships: For student membership of CIPD, you will need to apply directly. See application costs on the CIPD website.
- Field Trips: You may need to contribute towards any trips required for your course (estimate £300).

What sort of careers do graduates pursue?
Our Human Resource Management graduates have gone on to work for corporates, engineering firms, creative organisations and housing associations, as well as charities and public sector organisations including the NHS.
Their roles have included HR Business Partner, HR Administrator, Head of HR, and HR Advisor.

Accommodation
Greenwich
Living in halls of residence is a great way to make new friends and get into the social side of university life. With four great locations, all minutes away from the campus and the centre of historic Greenwich , you will be at the heart of one of the most beautiful university settings in the UK.
Rooms start at £146.30/wk and include Wi-Fi, utility bills, access to our on-campus gym and 24-hour security - and just a 10-minute train journey to central London. Students based at our Greenwich campus can also choose to live the Student Village at Avery Hill, which is only a short ride on our free shuttle bus.

Academic skills and study support
Access study skills support through your tutor, our subject librarians, and our online academic skills centre.
Where appropriate, we provide support in academic English and mathematics. If you need support to use particular IT packages for a specific module, we provide training for this.
