How you will learn
Teaching
Learning takes place through a blended learning approach, where students have access to online materials including pre-recorded videos. These materials underpin students’ knowledge and are explored in-depth in seminar settings. Students are guided through the learning materials with an emphasis on how the theory can be applied in a professional business setting. All students have a dedicated academic and personal tutor.
Class sizes
The typical student intake, per cohort, is up to 50. Seminars and tutorials are normally attended by 25 - 35 students.
Independent learning
We encourage students to learn independently with support from their lecturers and mentors to achieve goals and broaden knowledge through online learning, independent reading, networking opportunities and professional development activities. Timetabled learning includes some time for to learners to engage in independent learning on campus and to prepare their assessments in class.
Overall workload
Your overall workload consists of contact hours (lectures, seminars, etc), independent learning, and assessments. For full-time students, the workload should be roughly equivalent to a full-time job.
Assessment
The programme employs action-based learning, so your outputs and assessments may be based around the following:
- Real-world case studies in business
- Group work for discussion, research and presentations
- Business simulations
- Role play exercises and reflective practice for professional development
- Portfolio, outlining your learning achievements
- Self-study and research facilitated online.
