Heather White
Visiting Fellow
With 25 years of leadership experience in international advocacy and research on labour rights issues, Heather has joined Greenwich as a Visiting Fellow to continue with her expertise researching specifically on sustainability and human rights in global supply chains. She will be liasing with the Film and Media Center on the production of a new documentary film and a narrative screenplay.
Heather is the co-director and producer of the globally acclaimed documentary ‘COMPLICIT’, which is recipient of nine international film festival awards, and remains the most significant work on labour rights and human rights violations in the electronics industry. Complicit has been broadcast and screened worldwide, including in the House of Lords, UN Human Rights and Business Council and EU Parliament in 2018.
Heather’s work directly links to the work of the Business, Human Rights and Environment research group in the School of Law and Criminology. She has previously held visiting positions, including as a Network Fellow at Harvard University's Safra Center for Ethics where she researched on social auditing’s failure to protect workers in global apparel and tech manufacturers.
