Dr Hannah Lammin
Senior Lecturer in Media (Theory)
Dr Hannah Lammin joined the School of Design at University of Greenwich in 2019, where she assumed the role of Programme Leader for BA Hons Media and Communications. She has previously taught at University of the Arts London in Camberwell College of Arts and the London College of Communication. Hannah has a background in creative practice encompassing dance, performance design, site-specific art and digital theatre, and this experience informs her theoretical research and teaching.
As a lecturer, Hannah has taught a wide range of subjects relating to media theory and practice. Her specialisms include media philosophy, critical theories of space and time, affect theory and non-representational theory, and her teaching practice focuses on exploring conceptual ideas through aesthetic forms.

Research / Scholarly interests
Hannah’s scholarly interests are situated at the intersection between performance philosophy and the philosophy of media and technology. Her research explores epistemological problems that arise from the conceptualisation of social experience in posthuman contexts, and experiments with aesthetic models in response to these problematics.
Hannah is an active member of the Performance Philosophy network and has engaged in practice-led research with the collective Studio for Electronic Theatre. She has a research specialism in the “non-standard philosophy” of François Laruelle.
Recent publications have explored the aesthetics of machine languages, affectivity in vocal human-computer interaction, and the performative krisis of human rights enunciations.
