Dr Ana-Maria Herman
Associate Professor, HE Learning and Teaching
Dr Ana-Maria Herman joined University of Greenwich as an Associate Professor in HE Learning and Teaching in 2023. Previously Dr Herman held teaching and research positions at University of Swansea (in the Media, Communications and PR Department), Toronto Metropolitan University (in the Information and Technology Management department at Ted Rogers School of Management) and Goldsmiths, University of London (Department of Sociology). She was a Visiting Scholar at Massey College at University of Toronto and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Invention and Social Process at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Dr Herman has a multi-disciplinary background with a PhD in Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research explores the design, development, use and management of novel technologies and examines their implications for people, knowledge, institutions and society through case studies in the arts, museum and heritage sectors. Dr Herman has worked with diverse women artists' (digitised) archives creating a series of apps to promote women artists - and was most recently awarded a BA/Leverhulme grant to explore women artists' 'success' in the arts.
