Dr Zahra Sangelaji
Associate Professor, Academic Portfolio Lead for Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Dr Zahra Sangelaji received her MEng in Computer Systems Engineering and PhD in Control Systems Engineering from the Department of Automatic Control & Systems Engineering, University of Sheffield.
Dr Sangelaji has an extremely successful research profile and extensive teaching experience in higher education having worked as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Coventry University, where she completed her PGCert and taught various courses in Electrical Engineering discipline, prior to joining Greenwich.
Since joining the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Greenwich University in July 2011 as a lecturer, Dr Sangelaji has contributed to teaching and learning, research and organisation activities within the school. She is currently programme leader for BEng/MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (including Extended and UGIC) alongside leading two modules in the same programmes. Her role extends to supervision of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students.
In addition, Dr Sangelaji is the EEC research group coordinator and member of IEEE and IEEE Women in Engineering and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHE).

Research / Scholarly interests
Dr Sangelaji's research interests are in the area of control systems engineering, in particular nonlinear control design, stabilisation and analysis of nonlinear systems, optimal control and radial angular systems and their applications in various engineering disciplines.
