Luqman Idris

PhD Researcher

Luqman holds a BSc (Hons) with First Class in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing, an MSc in Applied Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing, an MBA in Financial Management and a professional qualification in Quantitative Finance (CQF).
Over the years, he has been involved in a number of developmental projects including designing of reliable system for consistent supply of raw material for use by various west African food and beverages manufacturers, capacity building and structuring of finance for facility acquisition.

Luqman is a member of a number of professional organisations including the British Institute of Agriculture Consultants (BIAC), the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAGrM), the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) and the CQF Institute

Thesis title: Mathematical Optimisation System for Industrial Policy-Makers in Sub-Sahara Africa

Research interests: Luqman applies mathematical and statistical models to support policy making and setting of standards in developing countries, particularly in sub-sahara Africa towards sustainable development. His main areas of interest are in food security, commodity trade, manufacturing, operations, transportation, education, public health, energy and power.
