Senior Lecturer

Charles Vanderpuye is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He obtained a BSc (Hons) in Urban Estate Management from the University of Westminster in 1989, and MSc in Property Investment from Cass Business School (City University) London in 1993 and an LLB(Hons) from Nottingham Law School in 2009. Charles gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the University of Greenwich in 2016. Charles is currently undertaking a PhD programme at the University of Salford, Manchester.

Charles started his career at the Inland Revenue Valuation Office (VOA) as a Graduate Valuer in 1989 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1992. Charles left VOA in 2002 and worked for the Ghana Government at the Land Valuation Board as a Consultant between 2002-2006. On his return to the UK Charles worked briefly for London Borough of Southwark as a Senior Estate Surveyor before leaving to work for the Government of Bermuda as Estate Surveyor in 2006.

Charles returned to the UK in 2009 and worked for Central Bedfordshire Council as a Valuer (Ops) in the Property and Assets Team until joining the College of Estate Management (CEM), University of Reading in 2012 as Tutor and Programme Leader for the MSc in Surveying. Charles left CEM in 2015 for the University of Greenwich and is now a Senior Lecturer in Property Development and Property Management.
