Fiona Gillow
Lecturer in Physiotherapy
Fiona joined the University of Greenwich when the Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) Programme commenced in September 2023. Alongside her university role, she continues to work clinically as a Physiotherapist for Spire Healthcare. Prior to joining the university, Fiona worked for 20 years as a Physiotherapist within the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
She undertook her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton and on qualifying rotated within a broad range of clinical areas. She then went on to specialise in amputee and vascular rehabilitation before completing her PG Cert in Amputee Rehabilitation through the University of Bradford.
More recently she undertook further study with the University of Kent and was awarded her MSc in Advanced and Specialist Healthcare.

Awarded prize for best poster in the BACPAR category
Poster presentation ‘A case-study project to explore physiotherapist’s experiences of using removable rigid dressings post trans-tibial amputation in the UK’ at the Vascular Societies’ Annual Scientific Meeting (2022).
Recognition
Fiona is a sub-editor for the British Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in limb Absence Rehabilitation (BACPAR) Journal.
Research / Scholarly interests
Fiona has a specific interest in the role of removable dressings post transtibial amputation and this was the focus of her MSc project. Her wider scholarly interests focus on her specialism in amputee and vascular rehabilitation.
