Deborah Dorsett RN, BSc Hons, PGDipHE, MAHE

Debbie is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Greenwich.

After initial qualification in 1981, Debbie successfully secured posts in various critical care departments in South-East London. She holds specialist certification in Intensive Care Nursing (ENB 100) and her interest in critical care practice progressed her career to the post of Lecturer Practitioner Development Nurse, to becoming a full-time Senior Lecturer Practitioner at the University of Greenwich in 2013.

Since joining the university, Debbie has been instrumental in developing and delivering the Intensive Care Practice course. She regularly contributes to critical care teaching in other courses and is an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) examiner. From September 2013 she has been the course leader for National & International Perspectives on Health.

Debbie is also a Moving and Handling and resuscitation trainer, ensuring students maintain the Health and Safety Executive standards for safe moving and handling.

Debbie teaches a range of subjects, including Critical Care, Respiratory Care, Pathophysiology and Skills for Practice to pre-registration and post-registration health professionals such as nurses, midwives and paramedics. She also organizes bespoke study days such as Tracheostomy Care for local Trusts.

She is a Link tutor for the Queen Elizabeth site and is a Personal tutor for students during training.
