Dr Claire J.L. Rossato
Associate Professor in Sport and Exercise Psychology
Claire joined the University of Greenwich in 2017. She assumed responsibility of Academic Portfolio Lead for Psychology and Counselling in 2021, alongside her role as Programme leader for the MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. As a lecturer, her specialisms include performance psychology, the impact of physical activity on mental wellbeing and physiological responses to stress and impact upon performance. She is currently supervising a number of doctoral students within these research areas. Claire is HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist and works in an applied setting within various sports and levels from Olympic to Youth Sport.
She obtained her MSc in Sport Psychology from Brunel University and PhD from Canterbury Christ Church University and has worked at several higher education institutions within the UK.

Research / Scholarly interests
Claire's research interests are around examining stress and the impact this has upon sport performance, in particular the examination of challenge and threat states. She is also interested in the use of physical activity as an intervention for behavioural issues and it's impact on mental wellbeing and has several doctoral students examining these research areas.
