Simon Farrant

Simon Farrant was for many years General Counsel and Company Secretary of a major global FTSE100 Chemicals company, and a member of its Executive Committee. He was responsible for all legal service provision, intellectual property protection and exploitation, and corporate governance across the group’s companies, including as Company Secretary of the parent PLC. He also led on Ethics and Compliance across the group, having established the global Ethics and Compliance programme and led the group’s whistleblowing processes. Simon is a solicitor and qualified New York attorney.
Having decided to retire from industry in 2020, he wanted to be able to share his learning and experiences with those in education, starting on their professional journeys. Simon now leads and delivers the Employment Law module for HRM undergraduates.
