Dr Pedro Machado
Lecturer in Economics
Pedro S. Machado joined the University of Greenwich in December 2023. Before joining Greenwich, he was a Lecturer in International Political Economy at City, University of London. He holds a PhD in Economics from The Open University (2021), and a MA in Economics (2017) and a BA in Economics (2015) from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
His research focuses on the modern developments of classical political economy. His main area of contribution is on the interactions between functional distribution of income, technological developments, and patterns of trade specialization.
Awards
His PhD thesis was awarded the 2023 “Pierangelo Garegnani Thesis Prize” from the Centro di Ricerche e Documentazione Piero Sraffa.
