Key details
Mark Phillimore
Senior Lecturer - Public Relations
Mark is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Greenwich Business School on the Master programme in Public Relations, as well as being active on the undergraduate PR programme. He is a member of the CIPR, EUPRERA (European PR Research Association) and BAFTA.
He is very involved with building European links for the PR team at Greenwich through EUPRERA, (European PR Research Association) and through involvement with the MARPE network of European PR universities. This has led to the university's involvement with an Erasmus IP on government relations and lobbying in the EU and a two week study period in Belgium each year. 2014 will be the third and final year of the IP. A new Erasmus bid is currently being planned.
He was also a Visiting Lecturer at the French business school, Escem (now part of France Business), attached to the University of Poitiers and Tours from 2007-2011 running an annual course on New Media Marketing which is part of their MSc International Marketing Communications programme. Greenwich and Escem now have a joint award programme in International Marketing as well as other subject areas.
He has recently completed writing a revised chapter on Financial Communications for the 2015 edition of the PR Handbook, edited by Alison Theaker.
Prior to moving into academia, he had his own PR consultancy specialising primarily in the high technology sector and particularly working with Californian and Japanese companies entering the European marketplace. He has also run courses for the CIPR on social media.
