Dr Jithendran Kokkranikal joined the Business School in 2009. The main areas of his research and teaching include strategic management of tourism and hospitality enterprises, human resource management, tourism policy, tourism in developing countries, entrepreneurship development, responsible tourism and sustainability.  He is a Theme Editor, Tourism Planning and Development, for the International Journal of Tourism Cities.

Dr Kokkranikal gained his PhD and an MSc in Tourism from Strathclyde University, an MA in Personnel Management and Social Work from Madras University and a BA from Loyola College, Madras. He is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), awarded by the Chartered Association of Business Schools, UK and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), UK.

Before joining Greenwich, Dr. Kokkranikal was a Lecturer in Tourism at the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (formerly The Scottish Hotel School), University of Strathclyde, where he was the Director of Taught Postgraduate Programmes. Earlier, Dr. Kokkranikal worked as an Assistant Professor in Tourism and Programme Coordinator at the Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS), India.

Dr Kokkranikal is a member of the editorial board and a regular reviewer for several international journals such as the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Management Decision, International Journal of Tourism Cities, Heritage and Services Marketing, among others.
