Ekoua Jose-Maria Danho PhD, Msc., AFHEA

Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Dr Ekoua Jose-Maria Danho holds a PhD degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of Essex (Essex Business School), on the inclusion of disadvantaged women entrepreneurs in the entrepreneurial ecosystem (based on the French context). Thus, she is a versatile and passionate early career researcher, and her research engages social issues related to Entrepreneurship. In this sense, she worked for 3 years as a Research Officer in the research team of the University of Essex for the EU INTERREG funded Accelerating Women’s Enterprises (AWE) project, which aimed to promote a better support for disadvantaged women entrepreneurs while providing practical recommendations to policymakers and ecosystem’s stakeholders. Prior to her doctoral degree, she completed a master’s degree in management sciences and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from HEC Montreal. She also holds a certificate in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris.

She also developed a social entrepreneurship project in Côte d’Ivoire targeting youngsters in disadvantaged areas and she also volunteered for The Humanos Institute for a financial inclusion programme in Nicaragua targeting disadvantaged local populations, through the Human-Centred Design methodology.

Prior to her role at the University of Greenwich, she also held Assistant Lecturer responsibilities at the University of Essex (Essex Business School) for Consumer Behaviour and Business Creation and Growth modules.

Responsibilities within the university

As a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, her responsibilities include teaching and tutorial guidance, research and other forms of scholarly activity, examining, curriculum development, administration and related activities.
