Dr Duyen Chu BA, MSc, PhD

Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Management

Dr Duyen Chu has formal education background mainly in the areas of International Business and Management. His academic experiences have been accumulated from a variety of national and international higher education institutions, including Swinburne University of Technology, University of Lincoln and University of Greenwich. Dr Duyen Chu used to work in the industry for many years before his career in the academia. Therefore, he can have the perspectives of both a practitioner and an academic in his approach to work, including teaching, doing research and consultancy projects, and supporting students. Dr Duyen Chu has been an active educator of management and business since early 2017.

Research / Scholarly interests

Dr Duyen Chu has been doing both disciplinary and pedagogical research. In terms of disciplinary research, he is particularly interested in crowdfunding, innovative and alternative finance, corporate governance and sustainable development. He has been doing research on a variety of learning and education topics, including innovative pedagogies, sustainability and inclusivity in higher education, strategies to deal with challenging situations in classrooms, and student employability optimisation.

Regarding research methodology, Dr Duyen Chu primarily uses quantitative methods. However, he also employs mixed method and case study approaches.

Dr Duyen Chu has been an active reviewer and session chair and co-chair of different journals and conferences, including Journal of Industrial and Business Economics, European Academy of Management (EURAM) conference, University of Greenwich annual Learning and Teaching Conference (SHIFT), and Greenwich Business School annual Learning and Teaching Festival.

Dr Duyen Chu has been an external examiner of different undergraduate and post graduate programmes for many UK universities.
