Dr Duy Tan Nguyen
Teaching Fellow in Business Logistics and Transport
Dr Duy Tan Nguyen (D-Tan Nguyen) joined the University of Greenwich in 2024. He completed his PhD in Logistics and Operations Management at HEC Montreal, University of Montreal (Canada) in 2023. Before that, he had obtained his master’s degrees in the dual degree programme in Global Supply Chain Management at HEC Montreal (Canada) and in International Business at the University of Melbourne (Australia). He also holds an undergraduate degree in International Business Economics with a specialisation in Foreign Trade. His research explores data-driven and sustainable operations and supply chain management. He has published articles in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals, including Omega–International Journal of Management Science, International Journal of Production Research, and other refereed publication outlets. He has also given presentations at several international academic conferences.
Responsibilities within the university
- Conduct high-quality teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the areas of Business Logistics and Transport.
- Contribute to the delivery of existing teaching activities related to Business Logistics and Transport and other management-related courses.
- Support the development of new modules.
- Engage in professional practice and scholarly activities across the subject area and contribute to the profile of the School and Faculty.
- Support the delivering of the student experience.

- 2019-2022: Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship-Doctoral (CGS D) from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada.
- Sept 2018: Daniel-Brosseau and Peter-Letko Admission Scholarship for the doctoral program at HEC Montreal.
- June 2017: Awarded by HEC Montreal for obtaining the best GPA (4.00/4.30) in the specialisation of Global Supply Chain Management in the Winter semester 2017.
- Mar 2017: Awarded by HEC Montreal for obtaining the best GPA (4.15/4.30) in the specialisation of Global Supply Chain Management in the Autumn semester 2016.
- July 2016: Melbourne Global Scholars Award for the dual degree program between the University of Melbourne and HEC Montreal.
- Mar 2016: Awarded by the Faculty of Business and Economics, the University of Melbourne, for the highest achieving student in the MGMT90026 Supply Chain Management course.
- Dec 2014: International Graduate Merit Scholarship from the Faculty of Business and Economics, the University of Melbourne.
