Dr Ji-Won Song
Lecturer in International Business
Dr Ji-Won Song joined the University of Greenwich in August 2020. Prior to joining Greenwich, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) where he obtained his PhD in Business Administration in June 2019. He received an MSc from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2013 and a BA from Korea University in 2011 (including exchange student program in Uppsala University).

· Personal tutor
· PhD supervisor (as a 2nd supervisor) of Yehui Hu (Evolution of Guanxi within Chinese Large-scale Exhibition Service Market)
Recognition
Ji-Won has participated in various research projects published as reports for government organisations in Korea. His works about Swedish labour market and business system have been regularly published at International Labour Brief from Korea Labour Institute (KLI) and at Global Social Security Review from Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA).
· Ji-Won actively has contributed to the media, academic and public events by having interviews and giving lectures.
Research / Scholarly interests
Ji-Won's research interests include international business, comparative capitalism, institutional analysis, and economic sociology, focusing mostly on institutional change, embedded agency of multinational corporations (MNCs) and various stakeholders.
Key funded projects
Ji-Won is currently working on the following research projects:
· Gender equality practice transfer and implementation activities of MNCs
· Comparative studies on corporate governance systems in Korea and Sweden
· Entrepreneurial ecosystem of creative industries (online gaming, K-pop industry)
