Dr Anju Maharjan
Lecturer in International Business
Dr. Anju Maharjan is a lecturer in International Business at the Executive Business Centre of the Business School, University of Greenwich. Before joining Greenwich, she was a lecturer at the London School of Science and Technology (LSST), and she has also worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland, London. Throughout her academic career, Anju has accumulated teaching, tutorial, and supervision experience for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels within Business management in the UK. Her teaching portfolio includes various modules such as entrepreneurship and innovation, Marketing, accounting, finance and research methodology and MBA dissertation supervision. Prior to her academic career, Anju held an accounting profession for several years and had an entrepreneurial background through involvement in her family running Business in the UK.
Dr Anju’s research mainly focuses on Ethnic and Women Entrepreneurship contexts. Her doctorate research explored the motivation, challenges and support for Nepalese women entrepreneurs in the UK. She is also engaged in pedagogy research initiatives, and additionally, she contributed to consultancy projects supporting UK SMEs. She is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs in SMEs, combining scholarship and consultancy to drive meaningful impact.
Anju became a Fellow of Advance He (FHEA) and holds Postgraduate certificate (PGCert) for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in the UK. She completed her DBA in Business Administration studies with specialisation in (Ethnic Women Entrepreneurship) from the University of the West of Scotland, Paisley, UK. Anju obtained her Master of Science (MSc) Management in Finance from BPP University, UK. Prior to that she completed a Master degree (MBA) in Business Management and bachelor's degree BA (Hons) Accounting and finance management from the University of Sunderland, UK.

Research / Scholarly interests
Anju’s research interests include entrepreneurship, ethnic entrepreneurship and ethnic women entrepreneurship. Her doctorate research focuses on the drivers and barriers of business practices in the case of Nepalese women entrepreneurs in the UK. She is also interested in researching social entrepreneurship, digital technology in SMEs, Accounting and financial management and Pedagogy contexts.
