Make sure you’re ready for remote working by setting up Multi-Factor Authentication and familiarising yourself on how to access the university IT services you need for your role from an off-campus location.
Virtual Meetings
Teams provides you with a space to meet and collaborate online; one-to-one, one to many or open to all. But how to connect? That depends on who you want to work with.
Key tools for working from home
Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) must be enabled on your account before you can access university IT services from an off-campus location. You only need to set it up once, and you can choose the authentication method you prefer - follow the instructions and set it up now. You can also forward your office phone to another phone number.
Staff Email (Outlook)
Staff email is delivered via the Microsoft Outlook client which is available for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices, which should “auto-discover” your mailbox just by entering your username@gre.ac.uk when setting up the software
Microsoft 365
Access Microsoft Office apps including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams on your university or personal device and work from anywhere.

The IT Service Desk
The IT Service Desk is the first point of contact for all problems and queries relating to our services and software. Our dedicated team of First Line Support staff have a broad knowledge and in many cases can deal directly with requests.
How we can help
The IT Service Desk is now working remotely, but still taking calls and answering emails. Our dedicated team of First Line Support staff have a broad knowledge and in many cases can deal directly with requests. When this is not possible they will assign it to colleagues in Second Line Support (campus) or specialist teams, whichever is most appropriate.
All queries are given a call reference number which you will see quoted in an acknowledgement email when your call is logged in the system.
