Student LapSafes
There are student laptops available for you to borrow from all our campus libraries. All our laptops are set up so that you can use our standard software, including Microsoft 365. You can download specialist software from Software Center, and send your work to print in the same way you would if you were using a desktop computer on campus.
Take note of the return time for your laptop to avoid a fine for late return. Our full LapSafe Terms & Conditions are displayed on our LapSafe cases.
Please note that we do not provide laptops ready for exam use.
Staff LapSafes
Staff loan laptops are now available on each of our campuses. They are fully patched, networked, secure and ready-to-print, and have all our standard software titles, including Microsoft 365, ready for you to use.
You can use staff LapSafes if you are:
- a visiting lecturer
- an hourly paid lecturer
- a student worker who occasionally needs to use a staff laptop for your work
- an affiliate staff member
- a casual contractor
- a postgraduate researcher (PGR/PhD)
You may also be asked to collect a new staff laptop, or return a broken one via your nearest LapSafe locker.
Our LapSafe devices currently work differently to our standard IT laptops, and should not be used as a replacement for existing equipment, unless authorised via our IT Service Desk.
We offer a laptop and an on campus workstation as standard to all our staff. For more information on our standard staff devices, see our standard IT equipment specifications and your options here.
