Student achievement
Our students regularly win awards; recent prize winners include the recipient of a national tourism prize and a Student Midwife of the Year, while an innovative business idea from a University of Greenwich law student recently won him a trip to the Hong Kong office of law firm Eversheds.
These success stories reflect our long history of student achievement. The pinnacle of this is perhaps Nobel Prize winner Professor Charles Kao, 'Godfather of Broadband', who is one of our alumni.
Modern resources
The university continually invests in developing its three campuses. New buildings and improved resources include the addition of the state-of-the-art Stockwell Street library and academic building, and the development of the Dreadnought building into the central student hub and go-to place for students. We are committed to providing the best learning environment for our students so they have all the necessary resources to succeed in their studies.

World-class research
Many of our research areas have been judged as having carried out research of the very highest quality – world leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour. A research breakthrough at the university's Natural Resources Institute, for example, has been named as one of the ten most important discoveries to be made at a UK university over the past 60 years. A poll of UK academics recognised the institute's work controlling the tsetse fly in Africa, which is helping to combat the fatal disease sleeping sickness.

Historic university
The university traces its roots to 1890 and the founding of Woolwich Polytechnic. Over the years, we have established ourselves as a place of research and academic achievement – a reputation reinforced by our high teaching standards and the ways in which our programmes respond directly to the changing needs of industry.

Our International Student Advice Service is dedicated to providing international students with information, advice and guidance throughout their studies. The team assists students from the moment they start at university, helping them to access our wide range of student support services.
Great social opportunities
The university has two active students' unions. These run events, clubs and societies, student bars and shops. Excellent transport links
All three of our campuses benefit from excellent transport links. Greenwich and Avery Hill Campuses are well connected by bus and train to central London, and Medway Campus is just a 45-minute train journey away. Once you are in the capital, the whole country is open to you through high-speed train links to virtually all the major cities.
