The Adult Dependants' Grant can help cover the extra costs a student might have if an adult depends on them financially. The amount available depends on their household income.

Child tax credits are assessed in the same way as other income-related benefits.
Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs)
You can apply for Disabled Student's Allowances to cover some of the extra costs you may have because of a mental health condition, long term illness or any other disability (such as dyslexia). How much you get depends on your individual needs and not your household income.
