Conference call for abstracts

This conference is for those working in, aspiring to work in, or curious about hermeneutic phenomenology. The focus of the conference is highlighting how research can translate into authentic care in education, health and social care policy and practice. This bespoke event is an excellent opportunity to hear from renowned phenomenologists. Abstracts need to focus on one of three areas:

  1. How research can be used in policy and practice development
  2. Offer ideas for promoting research to those working on the ground,
  3. Propose novel or innovative ways of reaching policy makers and practitioners and  impacting on how they work.

Abstracts should be submitted in the following format:

  • A succinct Abstract title: no more than 15 words long.
  • A list of the authors and their affiliation with one presenting author clearly identified.
  • The abstract must be about research impacting on policy or practice.
  • The abstract must state whether the presentation wishes to be considered for oral, poster presentation or both.
  • An Abstract text of no more than 500 words. The text should include:
    • background of the project/idea: why it is important to research this issue?
    • design: a definitive or proposed methodological approach
    • findings: (in the case of the completed project) OR
philosophical, methodological or practical questions arising from the work (where the project is in development).
    • What the work means to the research area e.g. does it add to the existing evidence, demonstrate new evidence, identify a new approach to research or policy or a new approach to methodology?
    • No images or tables allowed.

The call for abstracts will be open until 15th March at 12 noon.

Submit your abstract to: A.hanrahan@greenwich.ac.uk
