Economists use the concept of Highest and Best Use (HBU) for maximum productivity: the best use of a property to produce its highest value.

This highly interactive session will use the concept of HBU to discuss our highest and best use:

• How do we add maximum value to our business partners?
• What stops us operating at our Highest and Best Use and how can we fix this?
• What boundaries do we need to protect our time and energy so that we can sustainably operate at this level?

We will discuss:

• How high performers increase their influence and visibility.
• Keeping a laser focus on the activities that matter and executing them without distraction.
• The fine line between being responsive and pushing back, and bringing people along and sometimes slowing down the process to join all the dots.
• Managing expectations and having ‘difficult’ conversations.
• Putting in boundaries between work and home.
• Creating space for valuable curveballs.
• Self-care strategies for high performance.

The purpose of this roundtable is not to be a prescriptive talk or lecture on the things that one can do to be a better ally and/or supporter. Our panellists will be talking about how the support they received (or lacked) affected their journey. Themes to be discussed may include but are not limited to: times in which women felt that their voce didn’t matter, times which women lifted each other up, times which non-female colleagues stepped up to give a platform.
