A scholarship of up to £2,000 paid to students who are undertaking their first approved study abroad Programme at the University of Greenwich. The bursary amount depends on the destination, length, and type of study abroad programme, as well as the eligibility criteria met by the students.
Eligibility Criteria
* Received an offer to study at an approved study abroad initiative
* Paying the maximum fee of £9,250, or £1,385 if studying abroad for a year
* Studying at one of our three campuses: Greenwich, Avery Hill, Medway (except Medway School of Pharmacy)
* Be a full-time undergraduate joining in Year 1 of a BA/BEd/BSc/LLB/BEng/MEng or MMath Programme
* Be financially assessed by Student Finance England (SFE) and to have given consent to share
to information between SFE and the University of Greenwich (UoG).
& One of the Following:
* Household income of £35,000 and below
* Disabled student
* Student parents/carers
* Care leavers and care experienced students
- Black & Minority Ethnic Student
Assessment/Awarding Process
* The number of bursaries is capped at 50 for term or year abroad opportunities, and 100 for
summer programme opportunities. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria who wish to
receive the bursary must make an application.
* All awards are allocated on a first come first serve basis and based on the eligibility criteria; students from disadvantaged backgrounds will be prioritised. Once all 150 awards have been
made the fund will close.
* Term or year abroad – open in the summer for a September and January start. Eligible for Undergraduate students only. Priority given to students going to expensive destinations such as the USA.
* Summer programme – open in January for following summer. Eligible for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
