TLDRoffon

In this article we share updates on our Teams integration with Moodle, changes to meeting recordings and new Teams search experience, plus a new Teams app for Windows 11.

Updates on Teams at the university

Teams is now fully integrated with Moodle, making it easier to for you access content in both Moodle and Teams.

These regular "What's New and Next in Teams" and our ad-hoc articles keep you informed of new and upcoming developments, you can find our latest on What’s New in Microsoft 365. We recently shared information on storing our data safely and the built in tools to support Inclusivity and Accessibility.

Microsoft also provide regular updates to our Microsoft 365 environment

Microsoft are changing where our meeting recordings are stored. Meetings recorded in Microsoft Teams will be processed and stored in OneDrive for Business or SharePoint, depending on the type of Meeting held. We have updated our Managing Teams Meetings Recordings page to share how to find and manage your recordings.

If you have Windows 11, you may have noticed that there are now two versions of Teams on your device. The version labelled work or school which uses the icon with blue tile with a white letter “T” inside should be used for your university account. The new personal version of Teams includes new Chat functionality, as well as the full Teams app experience for your personal accounts.

A new search experience in Teams for Desktop is coming in November to make finding messages, people, answers and files faster and more intuitive. This redesigned search results page features better context, faster results, improved filtering capabilities with relevance based on the people and content you engage with most in Teams and other Microsoft 365 services.

Make sure you are using the Microsoft Teams application; the Windows desktop app automatically updates so you don’t have to. If you want, you can still check for available updates by clicking your profile picture at the top of the app and then selecting Check for updates.
