We can today announce that we have retained a Gold Award for our recent submission and that we now rank 20th in Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers list.
We’ve made an incredible jump of 55 places, moving up from 75th in 2022.
We’re proud of our collective commitment and effort from colleagues across the university and LGBT+ Staff Community and thank you for the actions taken to make our community an inclusive place for everyone.
Inclusivity and culture is one of our strategic priorities in our 2030 Strategy, and recognition by Stonewall, one of the biggest charity organisations in Europe supporting the lived experience of individuals who identify as LGBT+, is a significant milestone as we work towards achieving our ambitions.
Gail Brindley, Director of HR, is leading the implementation of our People Strategy. She said:
Our People plan states that by 2030 we will have embedded an approach to equality, diversity and inclusion that values our unique identities and contributions in everything we do, making us a positive force for change. This external assessment of our environment and work with and for LGBT+ staff is one of the ways we can measure our progress and success. While there is still much to do, it’s a huge step in the right direction.
