The Menopause Friendly Accreditation, established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace, recognises high standards and proven practices that embrace menopause in the workplace.
The Menopause Friendly Accreditation is industry-recognised and the only accreditation that sets clear standards which must be met. As such, it is truly meaningful and considered by many as a mark of excellence for menopause in the workplace.
In order to achieve The Menopause Friendly Accreditation, the university as an employer was assessed by an Independent Panel, where we were required to demonstrate evidence of our effectiveness in five key areas, namely: culture, policies and practices, training, engagement and working environment.
The Menopause Team within the university (Anna Radley, Vanessa Roots, Maureen Montague, Ratnes Alahakone) have always wanted to make a difference to the lives of people who are experiencing menopausal symptoms through breaking the taboo, normalising the conversation about menopause and by providing support and information within the workplace. Despite achieving the accreditation, our work will continue to ensure that the conversation carries on about menopause, ensuring that staff feel supported during this transition in life.
We are delighted to have received accreditation from Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace which serves as validation of the very significant work undertaken in the university to support colleagues through their Menopause journey. Whilst we acknowledge there is always more to do, this accreditation serves as testimony to the progress we have made to ensure that we are and will continue to be a Menopause friendly employer.
