Vaughan Oliver was born on 12 September 1957 and he died on 29 December 2019, aged 62.

He was closely associated with the Pixies and in 2016 "Where Is My Mind? The Work of Vaughan Oliver and the Pixies" the first major exhibition exploring their long-standing collaboration was held at Stockwell Street.
