Student Lifecycle Management (SLM)

Our Digital Student Centre is our one-stop-shop for student enquiries and personalised support. SLM Phase 1 has delivered this platform and Phase 2 is adding more complex processes. Find out more here.

SLM supports both our Student Success and Digital Engagement sub-strategies. SLM is a key programme supporting our students to reach their potential. The Digital Student Centre enhances our students’ experience through a new platform.

Student Enquiries: Launched in 2023

Our students now have a single space to access information and find answers to their queries. Our Digital Student Centre shows them the status and ownership of their queries in one place. It is accessible at any time of the night or day on any digital device.

Our colleagues from across the university collate, track and respond to each query. They use improved insights, including real time student feedback to improve our services. We use it to refine our information and reduce duplicated queries. This prevents unnecessary “bouncing” of queries between our teams.

Personalised Holistic Support: Launching in 2024-25

Phase 2 will provide more complex and detailed support solutions. We are delivering solutions which will improve support for our students. Areas will include student engagement, accommodation, academic and personal conduct. Plus student support services such as finance, disability, mental health and wellbeing.

Our multi-service case management solution is already in use by Information, Advice and Participation (IAP). Our International Student Advice Service and Report and Support services now use SLM for casework management.

Our Student Finance services and Student Wellbeing Services have also now been added to the Digital Student Centre.

Supporting you to deliver SLM for our students

The SLM project has delivered our Digital Student Centre for the benefit of all our students. Plus updated processes, guidance and training support our staff to use the system. As we add more areas we are working with students and staff to design simple, effective processes.
