Exactly where you store your data will largely depend on who you want to share it with. Below we share some good practice tips.
Personal use, or sharing with just a few contacts
OneDrive for Business is the best place to store documents that you only need to see yourself, or share with a small number of people. This is because OneDrive is available from anywhere via login.gre.ac.uk, it provides automatic version control and deleted documents remain in your recycle bin for 90 days or until you empty it. You have access to all the Microsoft 365 applications for PC or Mac for free for the duration of your studies, including OneDrive for Business.
Your cloud storage in OneDrive for Business is private until you decide to share with others. You can share a document from your OneDrive with a with a small number contacts, giving them either full or read-only access. You can also see who a OneDrive file is shared with or stop sharing at any time.

Sharing with a larger group
Teams are self-service and you can create them for Societies, Sports Clubs or to keep in touch with other groups, including other students in your flat, block or hall. Your tutors and university support services will also use Teams to work with and support you.
You can install Teams for free with your university account, or access it from anywhere via login.gre.ac.uk.
Avoid storing data on external devices
Malicious devices can install malware, software designed to cause disruption to our devices and network. Where possible, avoid storing data on external devices such as pen drives and external hard drives. Use the Microsoft 365 cloud storage which you can access from anywhere.
Storing and accessing your files using the options above is much more secure and reliable.
