The partnership with MSA is the university’s largest single overseas Transnational Education partnership, operating across multiple faculties. We are excited by the future of the partnership, with the introduction of new taught Master’s programmes and faculties at MSA.
Partnership visit
Earlier this month, our Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Professor Jane Harrington, Deputy Dean (Faculty of Engineering and Science), Noel-Anne Bradshaw, and Head of International Partnerships & Mobility, April Moore, met with MSA's senior academic and management staff at their campus in Egypt.
During the visit, the team had the opportunity to explore MSA’s state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories, and student recreational spaces. The visit was further enriched by engaging with our talented students, experiencing their poster presentations and signing our continued partnership agreement with MSA (pictured right).
Creating opportunity
The partnership has been successful in the development of various staff and student exchange and joint research opportunities. Most recently, the first research conference between the two partners was held in April 2023 and in August, MSA students will attend the annual three-week summer schools on our Greenwich Campus to participate in subject-specific activities.
In addition to the summer schools, the university offers a number of PhD Scholarships to MSA students. As a result of the partnership, there have also been several research collaborations with the Faculty of Engineering and Science and Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, leading to the publication of scientific papers.
Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Professor Jane Harrington, said:
MSA is a very special university where the quality of the teaching and learning, with an embedded enterprising ethos, is a given. What makes it so unique and somewhere we could all learn from is the ethos of community – which is evident in the family structure that is in place, and also in the outstanding community work that takes place for all students. Students leave MSA ready for all possible futures. We could learn so much from the practice here, that has been developed from the inspirational founder Dr El-Degwi’s vision and innovative ideas. It is a place I am proud to partner with and look forward to many more years of partnership.
