The practically focussed BA (Hons) Music and Sound Production will open students’ ears to a wide range of musical worlds, with the course’s content exploring recording, mixing, mastering, music production, performance, sound design, film music & game audio. Taught by leading experts and informed by our industry partners in Music and Film Sound, students will learn vital skills that will open up career options in the UK’s rapidly expanding creative industries across music, film, media, & performance.
MA Music and Sound Design accelerates skills developed at undergraduate study, empowering students to become confident, forward-thinking professionals. Students will specialise their practice in the rapidly expanding fields of composition and sound design for film and media working with immersive and spatial audio to respond innovatively to the technical and creative challenges facing the contemporary creative industries.
Students will have access to world class facilities including recording and production studios, surround sound labs, film & TV studios, digital immersive theatre, editing labs, workshop spaces and state-of-the-art equipment. Learning through doing, students will develop their skills through practical projects working with industry standard tools (Pro Tools, Izotope RX, Reaper, Ambisonic Recording and more) delivering a rich practice-based portfolio of creative works to demonstrate their skills and competencies.

Both courses will be taught at the new School and Stage Screen across the university’s Stockwell Street building, Old Royal Naval College and Bathway theatre.
