At the university we want to support and recognise the Marie Curie National Day of Reflection.
Let’s take time to connect, supporting the millions of people who are grieving, and remembering the family, friends, neighbours and colleagues we’ve lost during the pandemic.
Take a minute to reflect and a moment to connect.
How you can get involved:
Take a minute to reflect
- Join the minute silence at 12 noon on 23 March
- Shine a light at 8pm
- Take a moment to reflect on the last two years in your own way
Take a moment to connect
- Contact someone you know going through a bereavement and have a chat, send a card, a message
- Join Marie Curie's online talks and conversations, see more details on their website
Show your support
- Shine a light at 8pm
- Create a colourful poster for your window
- Use a background for your online meetings, choose one of the backgrounds below:

Support for you
Over the two years we have all likely experienced loss as a result of the Covid-19 global pandemic, whether it has been the sad loss of people we knew, those who were close to us, or the loss of the sense of freedom because of lockdowns. Grieving our loss can be a sad and confusing time. There are different organisations that can provide information and support for those experiencing grief and bereavement and for those who are caring for somebody who has been bereaved. Further information can be found here.
