As we are quickly approaching Springtime, our garden at Avery Hill will once again become a haven for all kinds of wildlife and provide an abundance of fruit, vegetables and herbs for students and staff to use. The gardens, orchard and meadow also offer wellness and mindfulness areas for everyone to take time out from busy days to be able to unwind and destress, whilst being amongst nature.
The Avery Hill Edible Garden was started in 2012 and has since continued to grow. It is run by staff, students and community members and is always open to anyone who wants to get involved and volunteer. Whether you want to help sow, grow and harvest vegetables and fruit, learn more about organic gardening, or simply enjoy a quiet space to have your lunch in the sunshine, the garden has something to offer everyone.
Weekly gardening sessions are run by the Sustainability Team on Wednesdays between 12-2pm, so feel free to pop down and say hi and spend an hour or so in nature.
