Help hedgehogs (and other animals) from meeting potentially harmful plastics and litter. We are one of over 80 universities who have signed-up to the campaign to help support the survival of Hedgehogs. The university who collects the most will win a hedgehog home and food for their campus.
How to join in
No need to sign up, just start collecting!
You can collect litter anywhere in your local area, this doesn’t have to be on campus and you can get others involved, they don’t have to study/work at the university.
Please email sustainability@gre.ac.uk your photos of the number of litter/bags you have filled.
You can also look out for the group litter picks that will also be happening this year.
Pick up a litter picking pack
We have about 20 litter pick packs to donate throughout this period. These are available on a first come first serve basis. If you would like a pack, please email sustainability@gre.ac.uk.
Each pack consists of:
- A litter picker
- Pair of gloves (Sizes Small, Medium & Large)
- Hi-vis sleeveless jacket (Sizes Small, Medium & Large)
This activity will perform part of our work towards becoming a hedgehog friendly campus for more details and how to get involved with other activities check out the British Hedgehog Preservation Society Website
At the end you will receive...
An e-certificate, and students you will be able to receive passport points for the time spent.
