Developing and investing in specialist teaching facilities for the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences

TLDRoffon

As part of the Avery Hill Improvement project we are significantly investing in our specialist teaching facilities, investing in new equipment and enhancing our use of technology where appropriate.

We are redeveloping David Fussey Building between December 2019 and May 2020 to create an expanded, state of the art clinical skills and simulation centre.  The new facility will be completed and ready for use in Term 3 and will provide improved experiential learning and immersive experiences.  Combined with reflective and critical thinking, it will provide an improved positive student experience and learning environment.

We're excited about the investment and development of our teaching and to facilitate this we have needed to temporarily relocate Adult nursing and Paramedic Science students' skills teaching to Mansion site.

We are providing new spaces and equipment for our other teaching facilities which are being relocated to the Southwood site:

  • Primary and Secondary Science Lab: we expect this to be relocated to a space within the new Learning Zone on Southwood site
  • The proposed future locations for the music room, art room & computer science teaching rooms are being discussed with the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences.
