How to get student status letters you might need

Do you need a student letter from the university? Find out how to get yours.

The university can provide you with four standard letters of student status. These are available to you at the Student Centre if you are fully registered with no outstanding holds on your account (pending documentation or fees).

Do you need to:

  • Prove your student status
  • Open a student bank account
  • Have proof of address in student halls
  • Support a claim for a reduction In council tax (criteria depending on your individual circumstances - find out more here)
  • Obtain a Letter of Confirmation of Study

How do I request a student letter?

  • Call 020 8331 8272 (10:00 to 16:00) and select the Student Centre option.
  • Come to the student centre on campus with your Greenwich Gateway Card. If you are a distance learner or currently on placement and cannot visit a Student Centre.
  • Email studentcentre@gre.ac.uk with your student ID number (beginning with 00) for additional guidance.

If you are interrupted or withdrawn please email the Student Centre with your student ID number for additional information.
