Getting closer to nature across our campuses

The Sustainability Team have shared information on natural spaces to help you find a spot, have a walk, go for a picnic and enjoy the beauty of nature across our campuses.

Research shows that exposure to the natural environment can reduce stress levels, strengthen the immune system and boost overall well-being.

You don’t need a forest to connect with nature. Across our campuses, we have many natural spaces to enjoy. Find a spot, have a walk, go for a picnic and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Avery Hill

Edible Garden

  • Join our gardening sessions every Wednesdays, 12pm - 2pm to grow and harvest some vegetables, and learn about organic gardening
  • Not your thing? Simply pop down to enjoy a quiet space and have lunch in the sunshine.

Oxleas Woods

  • Visit the Victorian Winter Garden and ancient trees in the 90-hectare park
  • There is lots of space for informal ball games and an outdoor gym.

  • Take a walk through the 77-hectare ancient woods, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which is at least 8,000 years old. You’ll forget you’re in London for a while
  • Enjoy the view and relax in the cafĂ© at the top of the hill.

  • From visiting the deer, bird-watching, jogging in the park to enjoying the view of Greenwich, you’ll always find something to do.

  • Enjoy your lunch on a bench with your friends in the summer.

Great Lines Heritage Park

  • Explore the 70-hectare park, a former military landscape. Enjoy the massive open space and the view of the town.
