The university supports Fairtrade Fortnight each year by hosting many events to highlight the issues in food systems and agriculture, as well as by serving Fairtrade tea, coffee and juices throughout its cafes.
This year’s Fairtrade Fortnight focuses on the simple message that making the switch to Fairtrade helps the planet and supports producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food.
Climate change is threatening the livelihoods of many of the communities we rely on to produce our food. Choosing Fairtrade means extra income, power, and support for those communities.
A number of events around the theme have been organised for the two weeks, including quiz nights, documentary screenings of ‘The Dark Side of Chocolate’, coffee tastings, Climate Cafes and ‘Gardening 101’ sessions.
Be sure to check out the full line up of events here so you don't miss out.
