The judges for the Enterprise Challenge Finals 2022On Thursday 24 March 2022 the Generator held the finals of our annual Enterprise Challenge competition in the Powerhouse for the first time, with an audience of over 100 guests. Ten student and graduate businesses pitched their commercial and social enterprise ideas to a team of judges including Byron Cole, serial entrepreneur and Greenwich alumni, Elle McIntosh, co-founder of Twipes, Gabi Slemer, founder of Finasana, and Jamal Hadjkura, co-founder of JDM Social and Greenwich alumni.

We’re proud to announce this year’s winners, who did incredibly well to make it to the finals out of over 127 entries:

Overall Winner and Greenwich Entrepreneur of the Year - £5000

Ceilan, a skincare brand with social impact, donating money from every purchase to ensure support for schools, clean water and protection against dengue fever. Shelini Surendran, PGCE Further Education.

Engineers in Business Winner - £3000

UMMACH, air-conditioning units that can be retro-fit into basic fans. Dinul Wijetunge, Mechanical Engineering Year 3.

Commercial Category Winner - £2000

Cheeky Chimps, after school childcare provision within the Ebbsfleet development. Lisa Corkill, Business with Finance Year 2

Social Category Winner - £2000

Blooming Rainbows, LGBTQ+ inclusive greeting cards. Katherine Vallely, MSc Therapeutic Counselling.

Audience Choice: Favourite Idea - £500

Urban Rise, financial literacy education for disadvantaged groups. Abdirahman Ahmed, Business Management Year 3.

Audience Choice: Best Pitch - £500

Nubian Essence, personalised natural hair care products. Trianna Lewis, Media and Communications Year 1.

Engagement and Progress Award - £250

Let’s Cook It Together, a food waste education provider. Monique Dotsey, Events Management Year 2.
