Information and Library Services has led work on the creation of a new Digital Strategy (2019-2022) to help the university deliver its mission, vision and strategy outlined in our Strategic Plan 2017 – 2022: "Making Greenwich Great II". |
Digital technologies are now ubiquitous in almost every aspect of daily life, whether that's in our personal lives or at work, and the Digital Strategy is based on the concept of "Digital in everything we do" to reflect changing working practices and the needs of students and staff alike. It follows and builds on the previous Information & Technology Strategy, which focussed on core foundational technologies, infrastructure, governance and improvements in project delivery and support services.
Through the delivery of our Digital Strategy the university aims to provide a secure, reliable and feature rich digital environment for learning, teaching, research and professional services now and in the future, as technologies and the educational environment evolve.
The Digital Strategy is aligned to the Strategic Plan through four parallel themes, all of which focus on people and experiences:
- to Develop our People
- Enhance our Processes
- provide Excellent Student Experiences
- to Facilitate Effective Research.
Some of its driving principles underpinning these themes are simplifying processes, providing a consistent look and feel across all platforms, considering Information Security at all times, and working as part of One University to ensure the delivery of consistent and efficient services supporting all areas of university life.
