We updated you last month on our promise to hold ‘in person’ events when we were able to, here we provide some further details of our plans for the ceremonies for our 2020 and 2021 cohorts.
We have worked with our partners at the Greenwich Foundation and at Rochester Cathedral to secure additional dates which also allow social distancing to take place. The ceremonies will need to take into account the government guidance, and the structure and timings will be subject to any change in the guidance from the government, including the postponement of events should the prevailing guidance mean that it is not possible for ceremonies to go ahead safely.
Please note: the timing of your ceremony does not affect when your degree is awarded, or prevent you starting Master's courses.

Guests at ceremonies
As previously advised Graduates will be able to bring two guests to their ceremony. We recognise that the disruption has been disappointing and therefore we are waiving the £20 per guest ticket charge for graduations taking place in July 2021, September 2021, October 2021 and January 2022. There is no charge for graduate tickets.
We will send details and arrangements of the ceremonies directly to graduates from our 2020 and 2021 and look forward to celebrating your achievements in person with you. Thank you for your continued understanding as we make the arrangements to hold your ceremonies safely.
* We will continue to monitor and observe the guidance from government. Ceremonies will only go ahead if government guidance allows. Attendees will need to comply with any restrictions in place at their point of departure. The university cannot be held responsible for travel costs which may be incurred in the event of cancellation.
