We define Hyflex teaching as a teaching session which involves some students participating in the classroom and some online via Teams. The Academic and Learning Enhancement Team in Information and Library Services have several resources that can help you explore and plan for Hyflex teaching next term.
Self-Guided Training Resources
We have updated the Adjusting to the Blended Learning Environment Moodle page which provides self-access resources that you can engage with any time. Hyflex-specific sections include:
Experience Hyflex Teaching at our upcoming workshops
To help you prepare for next term, we are running workshops introducing Hyflex teaching. They will cover the pedagogy of Hyflex teaching, as well as ways of delivering content, facilitating discussion, and working in small groups.
The training will be delivered as a Hyflex session, so you can experience this mode as well as learning about it, using a Hyflex-equipped room on Greenwich campus.
Hyflex Teaching: An Introduction will introduce you to the pedagogy of Hyflex teaching, with available offerings on 29 July, 12 August and 2nd September. All sessions will run from 1-3pm.
The session link will take you to our Horizon system, you may be required to login before you can access the session details and book. For information about Horizon, including a guide to logging in, please see our Horizon support pages.
Please note: although we are happy to talk about the technical details of Hyflex, this session will cover pedagogical questions rather than technical queries. If you will be teaching through Hyflex in 2021-22 you should familiarise yourself with our Hyflex rooms before teaching starts.
If you have any questions about the workshop or the pedagogy of Hyflex teaching, please email the ILS Academic and Learning Enhancement team for support and guidance.
