Aziz Foundation
In June we were delighted to announce that we joined the Aziz Foundation. Through the partnership, the university will offer up to three new masters scholarships specifically for British Muslims to undertake postgraduate study. The Aziz Foundation was set up as a family foundation in 2015 and has to date has invested over £5.7 million in over 400 scholarships. The scholarships directly align with the university’s determination to eliminate the degree awarding gap by 2030 – a goal that is incorporated within its new institutional strategy.

Louise Usher
Following best-seller status of a book about how people were affected by lockdown, in 2020, PhD student Louise released a second book this summer. More people wanted to share stories of their experiences and Louise thought it was important to capture the feelings of people living through these times. The book is to be found on Amazon and Louise is soon to start data collection for her PhD thesis which was inspired by the stories people wrote during lockdown.

Global Greenwich Summer School
The International Partnership and Mobility team were delighted to welcome a group of students from across 6 of our TNE partner institutions. The students were shown around the campus and Greenwich area, took part in a fun treasure hunt and went for lunch at the Greenwich markets.
These students have travelled all the way from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Greece, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and the Netherlands. We found out that for some it is the first time they have travelled abroad and left their home country.
The International Partnership and Mobility team are so happy that partners students were able to join the summer school and gain a study abroad experience.
