Get active and beat Blue Monday this year

TLDRoffon

Apparently Monday 20 January 2020 is the worst day of the year* - we're a couple of weeks into the new year, and the weather's been a bit rubbish...

To counter the effects of Blue Monday you can either play Joy Division all day (see below) or come and get a bit active.

All activities are free of charge on Monday - most carry on through the term with a small charge.

Avery Hill campus

  • 12:00 – 13:00 Pilates in the sports hall
  • 13:00 – 14:00 Badminton and / or table tennis in the sports hall
  • Board games – situated in the Dome, available all day

Greenwich campus

  • 12:00 -12:30 Gym Circuits in the Sports Deck gym (basement of Dreadnought)

Medway campus

  • 07:45 – 08:45 Circuits in the sports hall (next to Drill Hall Library)
  • 12:30 – 13:30  Badminton in the sports hall

Or, why not take yourself for a walk?

All three of our campuses are situated next to (or very close to) parks, the weather forecast is "ok" so grab a couple of friends or colleagues and get out in the fresh air!

No need to book anything, bring your trainers / sport shoes and just turn up, we have everything else you'll need.

* Blue Monday is a name given to a day in January claimed to be the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first publicised as part of a 2005 press release from holiday company Sky Travel, which claimed to have calculated the date using an equation.
