A look inside the new library at Avery Hill

TLDRoffon

Work has been progressing on our new library at Southwood site, and we're looking forward to welcoming you into our new space at the start of the new academic year.

As you can see from the pictures below, we still have some work to do to prepare the library to open for the start of the academic year, but our library team are looking forward to welcoming you into this new space and showing you around in person.

You'll find the new Library and Health Sciences building right at the heart of campus.  As well as the library this new space will also incorporate IT resources and the Academic Skills Hub, with all of these in the same place for the first time at Avery Hill campus.

The building will have links to the ground floors of Fry and Grey, which are also part of our new space.

We'll have five bookable group study rooms, two silent study areas and an open access IT lab.  There will also be spaces where you can bring your own device and study.  And for extra security entrance to the library will be by card access only.

We will be following the government Covid-safe guidelines to ensure you have a safe environment to work in.

We can't wait to welcome you to your new library in September!
